Jacqueline Clowe is a 21year old singer/songwriter that goes by the stage name “Jackie Clowe”.

Jackie Clowe was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany and moved to Tague, South Korea at the age of 2 with her parents Rosalind and William Clowe along with 2 brothers.

Jackie and her family relocated to Pensacola, Florida where she attended elementary school and middle school before heading back overseas to Yokosuka, Japan.

In elementary school, Jackie was taught the fundamentals of music through piano lessons and watching her father play and teach guitar.

During middle school, Jackie selected the alto saxophone. This instrument Jackie would continue to play throughout high school.

Learning an instrument was a family rule. So along with piano and saxaphone, Jackie played flute and the bass drum during WGI season for the Escambia High School Diamonds. Upon finishing high school, Jackie earned a scholarship to Troy University in which she once planned to major in Music Industry.

At the age of 16, Jackie began incorporating things she had written from her middle school journal into music at the suggestion of a classmate who said they would make great lyrics. Unknown to her parents, Jackie stepped out of the Songwriter’s Closet” as her mom terms it and announced she had written a song.

Little were her parents aware, Jackie had not only began playing guitar, she had taught herself how to sing by following youtube videos. From that day forward, Jackie’s parents began taking her to the famous FloraBama for open mic and perform her original songs.

Amazingly, the following year, Jackie with her dad playing a 12 string acoustic/electric guitar, beat out 49 veteran song writers in the First Annual Gulf Coast Singer/Songwriters Shootout.

Not only had she been the youngest to compete by just turning 18 years old the day before the finals, Jackie was also the only black female contestant. Along with a cash reward, Jackie was given the opportunity to show her skills by performing at the famous Frank Brown Songwriter’s Festival on the Gulf Coast every fall season. She was also given a professional recording from multi grammy winner, Brett Jones. The song she chose to record in Nashville was “Satisfy”.

Another award was a 2 hour solo performance Seville Quarters which was professionally recorded by Dave Barnes Productions.

Jackie also was given a professional video which can be found on her youtube channel “You Think It’s Cool”.

This was an anti bullying song she had written at 17 when remembering difficulties she had gone through. With this song, Jackie has been a guest on channel 10 news and in classrooms throughout Pensacola.

Jackie Clowe has been a repeat performer for the Frank Brown Songwriter’s Festival, the Pensacola Songwriter’s Festival, The Mississippi Songwriter’s Festival and May of 2017 won the Jimmie Rodger’sTalent Festival.

This is a prestigous title especially when you think about this being the exact festival that Elvis Presley had gotten his start.

Jackie performed for charity events such as the Chick Fest 5, where she performed alongside the Voice finalist Shawna P, at the Famous Veets Bar and Grill in Mobile, Alabama. Also, Jackie was honored to be 1of 12 female songwriters to donate their time for the Penelope House fundraiser.

Currently, Jackie Clowe along with her father play for local festivals and private establishments. Jackie is preparing to introduce her unique “Eclectic” style to the rest of the world starting with a summer tour. Writing for various genres, Jackie’s sound is always described by fans as a combination of styles and artists such as IndieArie, Nora Jones and Yuna. This is why we call her style “Eclectic”!

So far, this short journey has allowed Jackie to meet some of the most amazing artist with some of the most amazing stories. Jackie hopes that one day she is considered not only an amazing artist, but able to tell the world some of her own amazing stories.
